Community Involvement

Mr Rental has always been involved in the local community and founders Glen and Kerrianne started all this in 1991 and formalised their support in 2001 by partnering with the Cancer Council as their charity of choice.

“Cancer Council and Cancer Society were chosen as many franchisees and team members within the community have been affected by cancer, whether it is they or close friends and family. It is also a charity that both Australia and New Zealand can support together. Both organisations have lots of community activities that we as a network can participate in throughout the entire year as a team or just individually.” Glen and Kerrianne Hickman

Since then they have and will always encourage this culture of giving back, throughout the Mr Rental network. Mr Rental’s charity of choice is Cancer Council in Australia and Cancer Society in New Zealand. We support the Biggest Morning Tea, Daffodil Day and Relay for Life each year as a network.

On top of our local event fundraising each year at our annual conferences and training and workshop sessions we run various activities to add to our fundraising efforts.

In 2009 Mr Rental presented over $75,000 to the Cancer Council & Cancer Society at the Annual Franchise Conference in Melbourne in October. This was money raised on top of funds from our local cancer council events including Biggest Morning Tea, Daffodil Day, Pink Ribbon Day and more.

At Mr Rental all franchisees are encouraged to support the Cancer Council and the Cancer Society as our “Networks Charity of Choice”. Incredibly many also find time to support other community charities in their local area as well.
